Weekly Gratitude List

weekly gratitude list

It’s been a while since I last posted a weekly gratitude list; I’ve just been so busy/rundown lately. I’m feeling a lot better than I did in my last taking stock post, though, which is good

Anyway, just because things have been a little crap, doesn’t mean that everything has been gloom and doom, so I thought I’d share a few things that have been pretty awesome this past month and a half.

weekly gratitude list, the little things, grateful, gratitude, gratitude list

heart Visiting my MiL & FiL over Easter Weekend (I’ll never say no to dog pats and cuddles).

heart Our trip to Auckland (I got to do a lot of shopping and have lunch with Jes, which was great).

heart Brunch with my youngest sister; I took her to Drexels for waffles.

heart Catching up with my dad (he gave us 2KG of chocolate coated coffee beans!)

heart Minion tic tacs and kinder surprise toys (aren’t the cutest? I can’t wait until the movie comes out in July).

heart House sitting this past week at he in law’s (more dog pats and cuddles with my favourite dachsador).

heart I won a copy of Finding Audrey, and so far, it’s a pretty good book. I’m hoping to read it over the weekend.

heart Other things: hand lettering, phone conversations with my mum, coffee with Dani, the fact that tomorrow is Friday (bring on the weekend), half price hosiery at farmer’s today (I bought four pairs of tights and two pairs of socks) and lunch with Leonie tomorrow (she’s giving me a kinder surprise minion keychain, because she has three of them, eep!)

Anyway, that’s it for now, there have been other things that have been great, but I can’t remember all of them. I hope you’re having a good week. xx

Weekly Gratitude List

weekly gratitude list

Happy Wednesday everyone, I hope you’re all having a great week. My week has been pretty busy, good, but busy (I’m really looking forward to the long weekend, because I really need a break).

Anyway Wednesday is the day that I share the things I’m grateful for with you guys; I’ve been keeping gratitude journals on and off for years and I find that counting my blessings helps me keep focused on the positive things happening in my life.

heart I opened my first ‘proper‘ savings account (I’ve had savings accounts before, this one is a ‘pie call’ account).
heart That I have a husband who helps me fill out forms when I have no idea what to write.
heart An early night, I haven’t been sleeping well lately.
heart Discussing possible travel plans with my husband.
heart Feeling so full of love, I feel that my heart could burst.

heart A good cider after a long week.
heart Finding great spotify playlists.

heart Games that keep me occupied.

heart That it’s a short work week.

heart Laughing so hard my cheeks hurt.

gratitude list

heart That tomorrow is my Friday.
heart Running into friends on my way to work.
heart Surprise candy.
heart Chilling by myself when I need some time out.
heart Having things to look forward to.

That’s it for this week, I think I’m going to go have a bath and then see if the latest episode of iZombie is up on TVNZ On Demand, because I am seriously addicted to that show.

. What are three things that you are grateful for right now?

Weekly Gratitude List

Happy Wednesday lovely people; I hope you’ve all had a great week, and if not, just remember that it’s almost the weekend.

My week has been alright. I’m not going to lie, there have been some parts of this week that have been incredibly shit, but there have also been some parts that have really great. So, instead of sharing the gloom-and-doom crappiness, here are the things I have been grateful for this past week.

heart Catching up with Rochelle for lunch and discussing life goals. I’m so glad I have a friend who has similar life aspirations.
heart Having my favourite food for dinner (if you were wondering, it’s pesto, avocado, tomato and poached eggs on toast).
heart A nice long bath after a very long day.
heart Bundling up all warm and watching TV in bed with the husband (mum, don’t worry, we were watching TV on the laptop; we don’t have a TV in our room).
heart iZombie (if you love Veronica Mars, you will love this).

heart It’s the start of the weekend.
heart A husband who brings home junk food (downside to the junk food, is that I’m now getting eczema and am breaking out in hives).
heart My new bag.
heart Great weather.
heart The countdown to the Easter break (I get to see dogs; I’m excited about seeing one dog in particular).

in my bag, what's in my bag

heart Coffee.
heart The Lewis Road Creamery x Whittaker’s Chocolate milk.
heart A clean apartment.
heart Sitting down and chatting about blog stuff with the husband.
heart Finding things I thought I had lost (I found my wacom pen, yay!)

heart Going to my first #BrunchClub brunch (I will definitely be going to more).
heart Bottomless coffee at Drexel’s (I might have had a bit too much, but hey, you only live once).
heart My new iPad case (I finally found a case for my iPad, and it has a bluetooth keyboard, which is handy).
heart Cake.

heart My husband (it was his birthday, and feeling are gross).
heart Soup (my throat hurt like hell, and so French onion soup was a great idea).
heart Netflix (I got sent home from work because I was sick and stayed in bed watching crappy movies).
heart Crappy magazines (I bought a copy of That’s Life; don’t judge me, I wasn’t feeling very well)
heart San Pellegrino Aranciata Rosa (blood orange is my all time favourite flavour).

heart Soup (more soup for lunch, it was chicken this time).
heart Sleep.
heart Blitz (nothing like a crappy game to keep you occupied when you’re unwell)
heart A comfortable bed.
heart Pasta for dinner.

heart Hannah’s honey mustard chicken bake (we had it for dinner tonight, and man was it good!!)
heart Hugs when I’m feeling down.
heart Talking about possible travel plans with Phillip.
heart A gin after a long day.
heart New Girl (catching up on shows is the best).

Happy Wednesday everybody, I hope you’re all having a great week; if not just remember that it’s almost the weekend (sometimes I feel like that’s the only thing keeping me together “it’s Wednesday, then it’s Thursday and then it’s Friday”, it gets like that sometimes though) and soon this week will be over.

Anyway, mentioned in my previous WGL post, I’m going to be trying something different; instead of posting a huge list of things I am grateful for, I’m going to share five things each day that I’m grateful for/have made me smile over the week.

I’ve been busy as hell lately, and I feel that this would be a great way of getting me to focus on the things that really matter.

heart Going self hosted; I’m very excited about this.
heart That I have a husband who goes on junk food runs.
heart Me-time (a face mask and a long bath = bliss).
heart A comfortable bed.
heart Hugs when I’m feeling down.

heart Rain; I’m really hoping for cooler nights.
heart I’m going to my first #BrunchClub brunch this weekend and I can’t wait!
heart Doing nice things for others. I wrote about the ‘happiness activities‘ that I find worthwhile a while ago, and making other’s smile/feel better is definitely something that melts my heart.
heart Peacherines (they’re finally in season! I have been waiting for so long)
heart Scratch & Sniff cupcake stickers.

heart Comfort food. The weather turned a bit, and so we had goulash for dinner.
heart Buying a new Your Home & Garden magazine (it’s the only magazine I buy religiously).
heart Cooler nights; I’ve been loving the extended summer we’ve been having, but I haven’t been sleeping all that well.
heart Great workmates
heart The Vampire Academy soundtrack (I haven’t read the books or seen the movie, but the soundtrack is amazing).

heart I’m halfway through the work week.
heart Brushing my teeth with my husband; it’s our morning routine (I know, feelings are gross).
heart The necklace I bought today.
heart Cups of tea (my husband just brought me one).
heart That it’s Easter weekend in two weeks (yay for the long weekend!)

That’s a few of the things I am currently grateful for. What/who are you grateful for at the moment? xx

Weekly Gratitude List

It’s been a couple of weeks since I lasted posted a weekly gratitude list. It’s not that I haven’t been had anything to be grateful for/haven’t been meaning to post; I’ve just been busy, and sick (yes, sick again; there’s a viral infection currently doing the rounds at work – seasonal viruses and open plan floors are a bad combo).

Now that I’ve gotten that out of the way, it’s about time I shared some of the things I’m currently grateful for (I have started a gratitude journal, where I write a list of five things each day I’m grateful for, and was thinking of doing that for this post and as a format for future posts, but I think I left it at work).

I Am Grateful For

heart The zomato event last week, facing my fears and making new friends.
heart Meeting other bloggers from Wellington (I’m definitely going to start going to brunch club)
heart Brunch (we went back to Neo so I could have the Eggs Benedict and had lunch at the Chocolate Frog today; I got the Eggs Benny, of course).
heart The salted caramel flat whites at Sweet Release.
heart A day off (took the day off last week; it was much needed).
heart Me-time (face mask + tea on my day off = doing it right).
heart Sleep (I’ve been curled up in bed the past three days; being sick sucks, but getting sleep is awesome).
heart My new niece, she was born on Wednesday and as I am feeling a bit better we visited in the morning, she’s gorgeous.
heart A phone call from my youngest brother.
heart Hugs when I am feeling overwhelmed/sad.
heart Skinny jeans that fit over my thick Island Girl thighs.
heart Future plans (I’m going to be saving my ass off this year, but this holiday is going to happen).

Weekly Gratitude List

gratitude list, gratitude, attitude of gratitude, brunch, eggs benedict

I’m going to be honest, I really didn’t feel like posting today; I don’t know what it is, but I feel really bummed out right now.I  guess that’s when I need to do these posts the most though, right? So, in the spirit of thinking of the positive (and in the hopes that this cheers me up a little) here are a few things that have kicked ass this past week:

heart Catching up with old workmates for lunch
heart Catching up with family for brunch
heart Catching up with family
heart The gluten free eggs benedict at Café Neo
heart New make up purchases (I went on a bit of a makeup splurge and bought a stick foundation and a shimmer brick from Bobbi Brown)

This week’s list is fairly small, but it wasn’t hard to think of anything, and typing it out has made me feel a lot better about things. I think what I’m going to do now is have a bath, drink some tea and watch some terrible movies, because even though it’s only the middle of the week, that’s just how it is sometimes, right?

Anyway, what or who are you currently grateful for at the moment? It doesn’t need to be anything huge, just something that has put a smile on your face this past week. xx

Weekly Gratitude List

weekly gratitude list, grateful attitude of gratitude

I haven’t posted a weekly gratitude list in quite a while (I think it’s been about a month?!), and I feel kind of bad about it; some awesome things have happened over the past month, but I was a bit down, and not really in the frame of mind to post regularly (seriously Black Dog sucks, but to be honest, it’s probably when I need to post a gratitude list the most).

Anyway, I have decided I need to suck it up and start posting regular gratitude lists again, because I’m far more happy when I write them, and it’s much better to focus on the good things happening in life than wallowing/focusing on the negative. So in the spirit of reminding myself how awesome life can be, here’s what I’m currently grateful for…

alpaca, surico farm, suri, new zealand, rotorua, vacation, roadtrip

heart Rocking bare legs in my hometown. This year’s all about doing more things that scare me, and this was a biggie. I am so self conscious about how I look, but this year, it’s all about being confident in my own skin, and wearing what I want to wear.
heart Catching up with friends and family.
heart My birthday weekend away; we went to Rotorua and I went on an alpaca farm tour, which was awesome (I blogged about it here).
heart Having my husband as a road trip buddy. Feelings are gross, I know, but I can’t see myself road-tripping across the country with anyone else.
heart Finding a café where the entire menu has a gluten free option (Solace in Rotorua is AMAZING; I was in food heaven).
heart Pho lunch dates with my sister.
heart The macaron at Louis Sergeant (they are to die for; so effing good).
heart Being on leave; I have had such an awesome time off work, and I start back tomorrow… Nooooo!
heart Phillip for making me the most amazing birthday cake (it was vegan too!)
heart Phillip’s gastroscopy was okay. Well this is kind of a sword, because it means nothing is obviously wrong, but we’re also no closer to a diagnosis*.

*For those who don’t know, my husband has what looks like an undiagnosed autoimmune condition, he had a gastroscopy this week which didn’t show anything obvious (which is good and bad). He has been in chronic pain for about 9 months and has seen numerous specialists, but as of yet, there has not been a diagnosis. He blogged about living in chronic pain at the beginning of the year, if you would like to check it out.

Anyway, that’s it from me for this week; I hope your week is going well, and if it isn’t remember that there is always something to be grateful for; even if it’s small (I’m not trying to be preachy by the way, I just feel that is a good reminder for everyone; especially myself). XX

Weekly Gratitude List

Gratitude List

I’m at home from work with a throat infection, painkillers and antibiotics. I’ve been home two days, and have tomorrow off work as well; I’m bored as hell, and have been kept sane by watching back to back episodes of Friends (it’s finally on Netflix) and eating ice cream (because it doesn’t hurt). Anyway, being sick sucks, but that doesn’t mean everything has been sucky, here are thing things that have been awesome and that I have been grateful for over the past fortnight (I completely forgot about posting last week).

heart New Year’s Day at the zoo (and a bonus mini tweet up with Anna, Asher, Raquel and Rueben)
heart Sunshine! We’ve had some beautiful days this summer.
heart Juicing ALL THE THINGS.
heart Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell (it’s one of the best books I have read in a while).
heart My instax (so obsessed).
heart Homemade Dulce De Leche ice cream (I am so happy we bought an ice cream maker).
heart Six Barrel Soda x Supreme Coffee coffee syrup (it’s amazing with the Lewis Road Creamery/Whittaker’s chocolate milk).
heart My new desk (bonus points for my husband for putting it together).
heart We got containers for our flours (it’s probably a little weird how happy it made me).
heart Lady Grey tea; I find it comforting when I’m sick.
heart My sister Tina is back from the UK; I haven’t seen her yet, but can’t wait to see her face.
heart Our new bedding, it’s so pretty!
heart My husband’s post regarding ‘resolutions‘ in our ‘feelings are gross’ Q & A book. He makes me laugh.
heart Surprise phở; my husband bought phở for me yesterday, because I wanted some for lunch, it was so sweet and almost made me cry. Feelings are gross, and he’s the best.
heart Friend’s is finally on Netflix!

Now that I have shared the awesome parts of the last fortnight, I’m going to go back to watching Friend’s and might read a book (I downloaded few eBooks after I finished reading Fangirl).

Weekly Gratitude List

gratitude list

Happy Wednesday; I can’t believe it’s Christmas Eve already, this year has gone by so fast. I’m not complaining though, it’s summer and i have some time off work, so it’s all good (I’ll be making some candy cane fudge soon and indulging in terrible Christmas movies too, so yay).

Anyway, seeing as it’s Wednesday, it’s time for me to share the things that have made me smile/that I’m grateful for, and it’s safe to say that the past couple of weeks have been pretty amazing (I’ve missed a couple of weeks, I know)

  • Empire – We went to Empire last week, and it was amazing. It’s a mixture of burlesque, acrobatics and theatrics, and awesomeness. They’ll be in Auckland from the 6th of January, and if you have the time and the money, you should definitely check them out. A little bit of a warning though, there’s quite a bit of audience participation, Phillip got put in a wig and a bikini top and was paraded around the ring.
  • We got an ice cream maker and a juicer – I’ve wanted a juicer for the longest time, so it’s safe to say that I’ve been juicing anything and everything I can get my hands on (my favourite juice so far has been a beetroot and ginger juice that I’ll post the recipe for later).
  • My #nzsecretsanta gift arrived – and it’s was amazing! I feel that I say a lot of great things are amazing, but seriously, this was way more than I was expecting. I got a keep calm calendar, a pen and some incredibly cute post-it notes. I was grinning like an idiot the entire day the package arrived.
  • Little Things – Harry Potter audio books narrated by Stephen Fry, coffee, strawberries and ice cream Christmas Eve morning tea at work, the little gratefulness diary I got with my latest copy of flow, sun and my secret santa giftee got (and loves) her gift.

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday, comment below with your holiday plans and what/who you’re currently grateful for. xx

Weekly Gratitude List

Happy Wednesday, I hope you’ve all been having a good week; my week has bee okay; I’ve been sick again and ended up spent the last two days at home (which was good, but also very boring). Hopefully I’ve gotten rid of the lingering lurgey, because colds that stick around suck, and I don’t have much sick leave.

Anyway. because it’s Wednesday, today I will be sharing the things I am grateful for this week, so here we go…

gratitude list

  • Rest: I’ve had the best sleeps the last few nights; granted, it’s been because I’m sick, but a good night’s sleep is a good night’s sleep.
  • Dragon Age Origins: I love this game and have just started my third run through.
  • Harney & Son’s Pumpkin Spice Tea: I can’t get enough of this stuff, and just realised that it’s rooibos, so it doesn’t contain caffeine. This means I can drink it before bed, (or any other time of day) yay!
  • I Got My first Christmas stocking: I bought myself a Christmas stocking over the weekend (we used to use pillow cases when I was younger, but I’ve wanted a proper stocking for so long), and I love it. I feel like such a big kid for being so happy, but you know what? Who cares.
  • The Great Weather We Had Over The Weekend: The weather this weekend was amazing; Phillip and I walked around the waterfront and had gelato, and I even got to see the Water Whirler in action.
  • I’ve Finished All My Christmas Shopping: I pretty much finished my shopping in November, which means no stressing over what to get people, so instead and getting excited about opening presents on Christmas morning (such a big kid).

That’s all for this week, what or who are you grateful for right now? xx
